Terrorists Use Bosnia as Base and Sanctuary

ZENICA, Bosnia--Herzegovina -- Hundreds of foreign Islamic extremists who became Bosnian citizens after battling Serbian and Croatian forces present a potential terrorist threat to Europe and the United States, according to a classified U.S. State Department report and interviews with international military and intelligence sources.

The extremists include hard-core terrorists, some with ties to Osama bin Laden, protected by militant elements of the former Sarajevo government. Bosnia-Herzegovina is "a staging area and safe haven" for terrorists, said one former senior State Department official.

They were all Arabs, around 11 of the 19 were Saudi Arabians, a nation that has 5000 American troops based there.

Instead of wetting your self over the Balkans, you should look at a real threat to America.

Tony, if the threat is Arab Islamists spreading their brand of fundamentalisim in the Middle East, do you not think a Western (UK, USA) policy that INVITES these organizations into the Balkans is not a good thing??

Inviting Arab radical Islamises is not a good thing, I was told that in a briefing in 1993, which was titled why we have to get in there before the towel heads. Joking about the title, but the content was not too dissimilar.

I could wax lyrically about what might have happen if we did not, but at the end of the day it is what might have been.

The fact is the majority of Bosnians are about as religious as you and me, and we both know how much that is.

Yes they have a few stay behinds a few extremists all of the Arab persuasion, they are tolerated after all they did do there bit during the war, but Bosnia is not an Arabic foothold into the heart of Europe, not if you meet the young.

Christianity might not stand up to Islam, but Islam takes a poor second to MTV, you should read the after reports of European Muslims fighting in the third world.

You Americans are slowly winning the cultural war, I think even Osama Bin Laden knows that which is why he wanted to ignite this Holy war in the first place.

One day we will all be liberal feminised and part of the Gaystapo, and politically correct, even the Muslims

The Mujahedeen were arriving already in the summer of 1992.

you seemed to have missede the part about spending his childhood in europe & "north africa"......besides my dear Hoppie, the dirt on Sacirbey is that he spent a lot of time during his high school years in Quadafi's Libyia.

Now, one would hardly expect that salient info to become part of Sacirbey's self written bio. (and talk about obvious tripe I-coulda-gone-to-Harvard-but-went-instead-to-Tulane-to-play-fooball.........you know as well as I do, Harvard in the 1970's had a lavish aid program)
