There is some odd problem with Netscape and italics getting stuck on. It's something to do with the style sheets, I believe. So I am killing the default style sheet.

'Tis been a rather good weekend. Badgers won, Packers won, it's a great day outside. In fact, now that just about everyone can view things on FR in a way that rocks (at least IMHO), 'tis time to enjoy what's left of the weekend.

Sorry John, I was still learning the basic HTML. So because I'm computer illiterate, and I don't want to go back to school (so to speak) I have to say your changes to FR HTML suck.
Making a foreign language even more foreign doesn't help.
< SPAN CLASS="hi" >to highlight< /SPAN >...isn't even working in your example.
< em > is the same as < I >...< span/style > doesn't work anymore....
Copy and pasted text won't have the same effect as the original (is that even legal?)
What's the point?

I just wanted to post something on a tech page to look like I was intellegent enough to know what they were saying

Amen.
I just updated and re-organized the
FR style sheet website. Thanks to Steve, we now have versions for IE5/IE5.5/IE6 and Netscape 4.77 and Netscape 6.1
Have fun. Let me know about any problems or if I need to write better instructions for newbies.

Apparently, I'm currently using Microsoft's Internet Explorer, version 6.0. Looks great on my end! One thing though... is it possible to get back the little underline under hyperlinks? They're hard to recognize without it.
Did y'all see JohnRob's new "FR Bump List" tool? It's really neat. I think the Internet address for it is something like http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/bump-list, or something similar. Honestly, he works way too hard.

Change this line -
A:link {color:"#101090"; text-decoration: none } - to this -
A:link {color:"#101090"; text-decoration: underline }, and this line -
A:visited {color:"#702090"; text-decoration: none; font-style: italic } - to this -
A:visited {color:"#702090"; text-decoration: none; font-style: italic }
To: clikker
Er, that second line should read A:visited {color:"#702090"; text-decoration: underline; font-style: italic }
To: steveegg
Thanks, Steve! It works beautifully.

Style Sheets For The Masses
Go check my
unofficial FR style sheet website again.
I now have a version of it that just uses colors instead of wallpapers. It's so easy to use that any newbie can do it. It just uses three colors instead of the wallpapers.
Just download a single stylesheet file. Then upload it back to FR. That's all. No user modification required!
Steveegg, we should have thought of this sooner. Doh! Would you modify and test your two stylesheet files for just color display and send them to me? Or just let me know if that new iexplorecolor01.txt sheet works okay with Netscape 6. I'll put them up at the website too so everyone can do it quick and easy. Maybe we'll have to start a sidebar thread in Extended to advertise it a little bit.
