After suffering close to 600 years under the Turkish Islamic Yoke....and then, commies and fascists... all with HUNDREDS of thousands of true CHRISTIAN MARTYRS, I can cannot in good conscience EVER call the Orthodox Christians "limp".

Did you know that the turks used to build towers of the heads of Orthodox Christians who would not submit to islam?? In other areas, muslims would boil them alive or roast them to get them to submit.

The Russian Orthodox Church suffered the loss of almost 1 million clergy to Stalin and his death camps...did you know that?

Did you know that hitler put thousands upon thousands of the Orthodox clergy in concentration camps to be worked to death or executed?

Look...you must realize that Orthodox Christians who die for their belief and love of Christ are just as good as any Christian in the USA or the world. Please do not be so anxious to speak ill of other Christians and call them ugly names....like limp.

How many members of your church have been called upon to be boiled alive or beheaded for Christ? Just wondering.

Peace? Not a chance, I am afraid...the honest's nest is all riled up....did you hear about the bombs in Indonesia. Little ones at a mall apparently.

But, that is a BIG muslim nation...they have had many SERIOUS persecutions of Christians there for a few years now.

I know that many point to the Christian Martyrs as proof of their faith and the power and glory of God; but I view then quite differently. I view the millions of Martyrs as proof that Christ's advice to "love your enemies" and "turn the other cheek" is really, really bad advice.

As a result, not only am I not a Christian, but I am less than thrilled with Christianity since it seems to set up people to be run over and murdered by the generic irrational idiots who seem to populate every age.

Just speaking my peace. I do wish all the best to you and yours, but I would suggest that perhaps your religion doesn't serve people very well in the real world we are forced to inhabit.

...we can deny them their victory by refusing to submit to a world created in their image. Terrorism inflicts not only death and destruction but also emotional oppression to further its aims. We must not allow this terror to drive us away from being the people God has called us to be. We assert the vision of community, tolerance, compassion, justice, and the sacredness of human life, which lies at the heart of all our religious traditions. America must be a safe place for all our citizens in all their diversity. It is especially important that our citizens who share national origins, ethnicity, or religion with whoever attacked us are, themselves, protected among us.
