The university's primary source of income is oil lands in West Texas that were bequeathed to them. But, like any university, fundraising is a major focus.
I find Faulkner's words fascinating in that there must have been quite a sh*tstorm for him to so publicly rebuke a member of the faculty. I suspect there *is* a lot of heat and we need only to keep up the pressure.
Surely he realizes the black eye this guy has given the college that he oversees. And if he *does* take any action, you can bet the howls of censorship and intolerance will be cried amidst the halls of academia. But if Jensen makes himself too great a liability, rest assured his days will be numbered.
Ditto. What a pathetic piece of garbage. I wish that O'Reilly had emphasized enough that this Professor said "We deserved it"

Jensen: College campuses are where these issues should be discussed.
Tall_Texan: Tell that to Ward Connerly and other conservatives who have been shouted down and booed when they tried to exercise the Free Speech rights that America-haters like Jensen enjoy on college campuses. At one time, the "debating ideas" concept would be valid but most campuses have decided to abandon that standard for political correctness, affirmative action and sensitivity training.
The American-Statesman has a statement on today's op-ed page that tomorrow (Wednesday) they will be having all letters from readers expressing opinions about this ass. So maybe Jeff's letter will finally be printed, as it has not yet been.

Guess I'm going to have to start asking the local media why they think students have so much wisdom?
I haven't heard back from them (the Board of Regents). I am sincerely interested in what they will say to the letter I sent regarding my plans to cease donating to UT in the future over this. While I do support academic freedom, I also support the right of financial contributors to academic institutions to voice their displeasure by withholding funds.
I heard this anarchist on the O'Reilly Factor and he is typical of windbags that always take the other side of what is right just to be noticed.
They are sadistic in that they get some kind of physical relief when they are castigated for their obtuse views.
The nit-wit alphabet media will make a bundle off his fakery just like they did with the necromancer John Edward, another fake who is raking in the sucker money by the sackful.
Jensen really took a beating in this morning's American-Statesman. Even an ex-student blasted him.
Check out the guest columnist's letters. Chief of police Stan Knee and Marvin Olasky seem to have the exact same thoughts, word - for - word. Now I know why Gracey doesn't read that piece of crap.
Jeff, as predicted, your letter was not included in the thrashing of Jensen.
