China secretly shipping Cuba arms - Thread #2
Washington Times ^ | 6/12/01 | Bill Gertz

Posted on 09/18/2001 5:32:20 AM PDT by ChaseR

China is shipping arms and explosives to Cuba in a sign of increased military cooperation between Beijing and Havana, The Washington Times has learned. At least three arms shipments were traced from China to the Cuban port of Mariel over the past several months. All the arms were aboard vessels belonging to the state-owned China Ocean Shipping Co. (Cosco), according to U.S. intelligence officials.

Beautiful Black Jade, my reply to you was ironic and intentded to be humorous, not to be taken seriously.

You may take note that when you write about what the Chinese government is doing to people you don't rail against the government. When you comment about the things that I have mentioned they are doing you deflect the accusation.

That was what I really meant.

You may already know there is more behind the construction of the Three Gorges Dam than you have mentioned and so I will.

You may not know the importance of forming 'Partnerships' between businesses and governments. One of the unstated partners in the Dam project is NATURES CONSERVANCY. To understand the importance of that you will need to read many pages from Natures Conservancy and others commenting on their activities.

Natures Conservancy intends to move people into urban centers and away from farm land around the world. If you don't believe me just look in your own community and observe their actions.

The major question on this particular point is "Why is it important to the Chinese Communist Party to partner with Natures Conservancy?"

The very same thing is being done in the USA. Why?

I am not going to answer this for you because you will immediately disagree with me. It won't be too difficult to find the answer but it will require a good amount of reading and analysis. The answer is more important than the war against terrorism.

I wish you well Black Jade.

Thank you very much for this post, Black Jade. There is nothing benign about communist China. We have every reason to keep a watchful alert on their moves.

OK, nice bit of slash-and-burn on my post.

First, nuclear weapons are stored in extremely high-security facilities. These facilities are easily seen from orbit, and commercially-available imagery would detect SOME sort of high-security facility there. You simply ignored that fact. The model you propose is NOT of sufficiently high security; it is instead "security through obscurity," which security professionals reject out of hand for very sound reasons: it provides insufficient security in the event of the location being compromised.

So, go examine the imagery. Surely, you can stick a picture of the Chinese nuclear missile facility in Panama on FR, right?

As for the 9/11 connection: Osama bin Laden has an advantage in the sneakiness department over China: we don't know where he is, we DO know where China is. So, bin Laden can afford to be an irresponsble a**hole (at least until we finally guess which cave he's in). National governments are rather easily found and just as easily nuked into oblivion. They CAN'T afford to be as irresponsible as, say, some alarmist posting on FR can. And national governments, unlike you, understand that people DO, for instance, accept $50 grand and sell the locations of nuclear weapons storage sites. So the security plans for nuclear weapons always involve lots of barbed wire, lots of heavily armed security personnel, and LOTS of open space around the storage sites. All three of these would stand out in Panama (empty land in the Canal Zone is lost money).

So, provide the proof that there is SOME sort of extremely high-security facility in Panama, one suitable for the storage of nuclear weapons. The model you proposed ain't good enough for the job; try again.

As for "addressing all possibilities," if you try to do that you would quickly expend all of America's strength in chasing nonexistent threats.

Hmm, that seems so obvious that I shouldn't HAVE to have said it. This, in turn, implies that you DO, indeed, understand this issue--and that your alarmist postings are intended to sow fear and panic on behalf of America's enemies and cause us to fritter away our strength dealing with nonexistent threats instead of REAL ones.

Thank you for revealing your colors--or, actually, color--specifically, Red.

BTW, I have just as much proof of that charge as you do of the claim that the Chinese have stationed nuclear missiles in Panama. But, you must admit that we must address all possibilities, right?

Are you willing to acknowledge the POSSIBILITY that you are actually a ChiCom infiltrator on this forum? PROVE THAT YOU ARE NOT ONE.

Cute. Really chilidsh, petty, and illustrative of just how pathetically weak your arguments are--but cute.
