Yes, there are innocent ones. God Bless them. I agree, those who do nothing to stop these scum, or who cheer them on, are guilty of something, the sin of silence, but its a different degree.
4 planes, probably 700 people on board? And in the towers, maybe thousands dead. This is like Pearl Harbor, and there is hell to pay. I dunno who did this, but if it the Palestinian/Islamic radicals the response needs to be swift and fierce. The West cannot live among these radicals. They need to be eradicated. All those who say "death to the Jews and the Americans who are like them" need to die now whether they are involved in this attack or not. There are many in the Palestinian territories that believe this and follow this, although I am not sure if it is Palestinians who did this, nevertheless this is the mindset that the Israelis have had to deal with forever, and again we pay with our lives. NO MORE I SAY. They have incited this violence against us and MUST PAY for their incitement, whether they are involved directly in this or not. Whether this is Bin Laden (Afghanistan), Hezbullah (Iran) or the DFLP (Palestinian) they all need to pay dearly because they are all part of the same cabal, the same mindset. This is WAR.

A talking head on WGN just mentioned as a possible connection that an Afghani leader was assassinated yesterday.

"They have not reclaimed responsibility at all. They have denied it. This story is a nonsense designed to stir up hate before the facts are known." Gee, you don't suppose there are people somewhere who WANT the Palistinians to be blamed, do you?
Folks, we don't know for a fact who did this. And if one can envision any one group willing to do something this vile to make a point, one must accept the possability of ANOTHER group willing to do something this vile to make the first group look bad.
None of us knows who did this. Be careful of those who insist they should decide for you.

Wasn't Bush just last week running around playing kissy-foot with Palestinian 'president' Yassar Arafat? Didn't the U.N., the international body that is going to bring 'peace' to the world, having it's grand conference on racism, the titanic parley run by racists and anti-American and Jew hating Palestinian and Arab bigots? Hasn't the liberal media and Jesse Jackson rainbow fools just spent the last two weeks condemning America for not kow-towing to these anti-American Muslim bigots and terrorists at the U.N. conference on racism, the same league of Muslim terrorists who the Clinton and now Bush administration is supporting right now in Macedonia and South East Europe? And isn't this the Bush Administration which told us 'help is on the way' for our military and intelligence operations, and instead he cut back on men, cut back on resources, what has he been doing except running around with the liberals trying to make sure he follows the N.Y. Times and Washington Post party line? We are shown Palestinians throwing rocks, the liberal media forgets and forgives Osama Bin Laden, Yassar Arafat throws nail bombs at Jews as the media tells us we should worship him and as Bush kisses Arafat's feet. Well, there are many forms of nail bombs. Now they come home to America. Maybe we should setup a Palestinian state in an area of Texas, or perhaps in Virginia? Help isn't on the way because the Bush Administration has to be too politically correct to protect American borders, instead we are suppose to help the Muslims expand all over the world. We have no borders, soon we will not have any language, and next no culture. No language, culture, no borders. Soon we will be told that public trains and public airplanes cannot fly over mosques that are in New York, New Jersey, California, Illinois, because it would be an insult to the Muslims and their holy place. Just like what happens in India, where you cannot have a parade down a public street if it passes by a mosque, or else there will be 'reprisals' by those organizations who are suppose to represent Mohammed. Maybe Bush can go shake hands with Yassar Arafat again and ask him what the Bush Administration can do to avoid these unfortunate occurrences like our trade center being wiped off the map? What has Bush done for conservatives, lately, or at all? I bet he has done more for the Muslims of the world than for conservatives. Maybe Israel should give up more land, and that way America can have peace? Maybe Yasar Arafat should be appointed the next President of the United Nations? Perhaps Bush can run with him, Bush-Arafat 2004. We can start global trade with Palestine, and import a lot of products "Made in Palestine" - perhaps Nike can locate a factory there. Or perhaps a steel mill, or even a factory that makes military equipment. We are the world, we are the children, and isn't this new globalism great? We can locate the new global government in the N.Y. Trade Center - or can we?

You're right. This is war. I'm sure we killed a lot of very nice, decent Japs and Germans. In war, there ain't time to sort them out. I already hear some of the pundits already saying we need to keep calm and take a deep breath. No we don't. It's time to get mad and stay mad until the SOBs are on their knees begging for mercy. There are probably more people dead from this than died at Pearl Harbor. To hell with calm.

Thanks for the info, annalex. I sure would love to be a fly on the wall at Langley and the Kremlin.

FWIW, I don't believe it's the Palestinians. They can barely execute these lone terrorist attacks. Half the time they blow up in their faces, and the Israelis have a lot of intelligence on them.
I vote for Bin Laden, but as you said, who knows. What I do know is that there are a great number of groups who would want to do this, and a great number who incite this type of violence. We must not countenance their rhetoric any longer. If Israel wants to smash those groups that call for the death of Americans, I wish them godspeed.

Re #63 Of course I realise that. No need to be so sarcastic - there are enough people giving you and I a hard time for our stance on this, without you having a go as well, my friend.

Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP)
From: Patterns of Global Terrorism, 1998. United States Department of State, April 1999.
Description
Marxist-Leninist organization founded in 1969 when it split from the
Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). Believes Palestinian national goals can be achieved only through revolution of the masses. In early 1980s, occupied political stance midway between Arafat and the rejectionists. Split into two factions in 1991; Nayif Hawatmah leads the majority and more hardline faction, which continues to dominate the group. Joined with other rejectionist groups to form the Alliance of Palestinian Forces (APF) to oppose the Declaration of Principals signed in 1993. Broke from the APF - along with the PFLP - over ideological differences. Has made limited moves toward merging with the PFLP since the mid-1990s.
Activities
In the 1970s, conducted numerous small bombings and minor assaults and some more spectacular operations in Israel and the occupied territories, concentrating on Israeli targets. Involved only in border raids since 1988, but continues to oppose the Israel-PLO peace agreement.
Strength
Estimated at 500 (total for both factions).
Location/Area of Operation
Syria, Lebanon, and the Israeli-occupied territories; terrorist attacks have taken place entirely in Israel and the occupied territories. Conducts occasional guerilla operations in Southern Lebanon.
External Aid
Receives limited financial and military aid from Syria.

Great. All we need is a bunch of jackasses trying to take away freedom in the name of security. God help us if we become fortress america, next stop is the police state.
Let's focus our response outside our borders, please.

If it is the Palestinians, God Bless the innocent ones, because this is the perfect opportunity for Israel to push them across the Jordan. And do you think that will stop the cycle of violence? If it turns out to be Palestinians, the blame falls squarely on the shoulders of Israel and their oppressive occupation of the West Bank and Gaza. More injustice will only beget more violence.
The USA has blindly supported Israel for years, and now they are reaping the consequences, as is the entire world. Financial markets worldwide are shut down.

I didn't advocate it, I said it would be a possible response. As for the occupation being to blame, you are full of shit. These crazy Islamic funadmentalists have been warring against Israel since long before 1967, and they have been killing Jews since before 1948. Take your propeganda crap elsewhere because you are demonstrably lying.
To: Bassam_Abu_Sharif
Sorry for the profanity.

OH YOU SON OF A BITCH!
IT IS BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU THAT THIS IS TAKING PLACE. DO US ALL A FAVOR AND GO BACK TO THE RATS HOLE YOU CRAWLED OUT OF, EITHER THAT OR VOLUNTEER FOR TARGET PRACTICE, WITH YOU BEING THE TARGET!

To say nothing of the death dealt to innocent women and children by the palestinian thugs in their acts of cowardice.
Come out and fight like a man you cowards. Quit hiding behind the skirts of your women. If you are so damned brave face death like a man.
To: Bassam_Abu_Sharif
Blaming Israel instead of the perpetrators of this tragedy is a shameful disgrace. Before we get too far off track, if you have followed my posts here on FR over the years you would know that I am a supporter of the Palestinian people and think that they deserve a state right where they are now. That said, I do not support the PA regime, and do not support terrorism against civilian targets. You know darn well that there are elements inside the PA and in Iran & Afghanistan that preach and call for the death of Jews and Americans not for political reasons, but for religious and cultural reasons.
The west can no longer allow their rhetoric to continue. All these crazy radical religious clerics and their ardent followers who call for the death of Americans and Jews need to be destroyed. Political wars are one thing, something that we can all understand. But using politics as a cover for a religious and cultural war cannot be countenanced.
Tony Blair, the Prime Minister of England just said it best "We, the democracies of the western world are going to have to come together, to fight it together, and eradicate this evil completely from our world."

They have not reclaimed responsibility at all. They have denied it. This story is a nonsense designed to stir up hate before the facts are known. I agree with you Kate. I expect we will hear all kinds of bogus reports.
