Fair enough. What you write makes a lot of sense, especially on a deeply emotional level.
I just become agitated when the debate about teh Shrouds authentiticy someone becomes linked with the debate about Jesus authenticity.
If evidence using modern scientific techiniques shows that the Shroud is not what some would like it to be- sobeit To cling to belief in the Shroud despite clear and indisputable evidence to the contrary (although this is not yet 100% the case) allows those who wish to sully the name of Christ an unfortunate opening.

My faith in the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ does not hang on whether the shroud of Turin is truly his death shroud or not. I do not need physical evidence (the Ark on Ararat) to be a believer in Jesus Christ message. It is simply an interesting aside, like the Ark. I can see, if I had come upon the open tomb and found the shroud on the ground, I would have taken it home and kept it. It would have been passed down from generation to generation with the story of how it happened to be in the care of my family. Its an interesting story, thats all.

Is there not an admonition in the Bible to
not attempt to visualize Christ? I could be wrong, but I'm thinking I've seen such.
