We must work to get the laws changed so that it is a crime to remove the feeding tubes from people in so-called vegetative states.

Stricter laws would be good, but what they're doing to Terri is already illegal. The laws are not being enforced. Florida law defines Persistent Vegetative State (I can't access it right now without my stupid computer crashing again.) The courts (Judge Greer, was it?) defied the law by declaring Terri to be PVS, in spite of the fact that every doctor desribed her condition as inconsistent with the legal definition of PVS. Even the doctors who stated that she was PVS (according to their own definition) described her condition as being inconsistent with a legal diagnosis of PVS. The law is very specific about what PVS is, and every doctor agrees Terri's condition does not fall within that definition.

You are absolutely right! There are so many laws that are being broken in poor Terri's case it boggles the mind!
