Do we wait for conclusive proof that a child might be poisoned by smoke or do we act as if he might and avoid there exposure accordingly.
I maintain that a parent that needlessly smokes in front of their child causes them to take unnecessary risks and such a parent is selfish and unable to put others well being ahead of their own. Its abusive.

After 2000 years, give or take, of parents smoking in the house with kids present, and no proof that it is bad for them, you ask if we wait until it kills one.

I maintain that a parent that needlessly smokes, eats too many donuts, drinks cola or alcohol, bites their nails, only takes a shower once a week, drives to fast etc. in front of their child causes them to take unnecessary risks and such a parent is selfish and unable to put others well being ahead of their own. Its abusive.....so I guess all this abuse needs to be stopped by the Nanny Police according to your way of thinking????????
