Grown-up Christmas list
Do you remember me?
I sat upon your knee;
I wrote to you
With childhood fantasies.
Well, Im all grown-up now,
And still need help somehow.
Im not a child,
But my heart still can dream.
So heres my lifelong wish,
My grown-up Christmas list.
Not for myself,
But for a world in need.
No more lives torn apart,
That wars would never start,
And time would heal all hearts.
And everyone would have a friend,
And right would always win,
And love would never end.
This is my grown-up Christmas list.
As children we believed
The grandest sight to see
Was something lovely
Wrapped beneath our tree.
Well heaven surely knows
That packages and bows
Can never heal
A hurting human soul.
No more lives torn apart,
That wars would never start,
And time would heal all hearts.
And everyone would have a friend,
And right would always win,
And love would never end.
This is my grown-up Christmas list.
What is this illusion called the innocence of youth?
Maybe only in our blind belief can we ever find the truth.
No more lives torn apart,
That wars would never start,
And time would heal all hearts.
And everyone would have a friend,
And right would always win,
And love would never end, oh.
This is my grown-up Christmas list.

Thank you. Heard this the other day and enjoyed it. Didn't realize it was a "Christmas Song" until it was all over.

Just a clarification, that song was written by David Foster. Over a dozen artists have recorded the song.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

A Redskins jersey? I applaud the steadfastness of your devotion to the 'Deadskins', well on their way to a 5 - 11 season!

S.C. isn't gawking at the girlies at the beach, Mickey at Disneyland or Lee Majors at Universal Studios like Michigan is.
The word focus has been ripped out of the Wolverine dictionary.

The 1st and only version I've ever heard was Grant's version about 6 years ago and it completely overwhelmed me.
While searching online for the lyrics I did indeed notice that this song has been done by several artists.

I trust Santa will come thru for you!

I realize its selfish of me to post what I want, but its tempered, I rationalize, by wanting the Skins jersey! Merry Christmas, All!

I love Amy Grant, and this is definitely one of her most moving songs. Thanks for the link, because the radio stations down here usually play it at some weird hour and I always miss it.

I'm thrilled that someone else felt the same way as I did with respect to Grant's version of this song.
If you care to, download it to your HD ASAP because I won't be able to keep it online for too much longer.
Merry Christmas, ABG!
