Great read, as usual.

I've been searching the IMDB for the movie about a WWII plane crash in the desert, where the guys wait for years until found. Great ghost story. Anyone remember the name of the flick? Seems like it was made in the 60's.

No mention is made on the LadyBeGood site about a movie. Thanks for your help.

Good morning texas booster.

My partner SAMWolf was just talking to me about a movie about this last night. I recall he said they used a B-25 in the movie instead of a B-24 and that the leader was looking for his men in the desert and couldn't rest until he found out what happened to them and then realized that he, himself, was dead.

He is on the west coast so won't be awake for awhile but I'll have him ping you when he signs on, he'll be able to tell you more.

Thanks for 'falling in' with the compliment too.

There was a movie and a Twilight Zone episode based on the Lady BE Good.

The Movie, "Sole Survivor" starred Vince Edwards, Richard Basehart, William Shatner and had a B-25 found in the Libyan Desert.

The Twilight Zone episode, "King 9 Will Not Return".

The episode's tale was written by Serling and is about a pilot named Captain James Embry who seems to have survived. He awakens near the crashed aircraft (here named the King 9) only to find his entire crew has inexplicably disappeared and their water canteens, etc. have been left untouched here too.

The challenging role of Embry (who is the only character on screen for most of this episode) was played by Robert Cummings. Cummings does a terrific job here of displaying a man haunted by the memory of those who he could not save—those for whom he felt responsible. The twist ending is simply done and a great moment.
