Not that I want to go out and kill someone, but consider our recent past, would have cried over the loss of someone we all love to hate. I think Southerns may have felt that way about Lincoln.

Wholeheartedly agree Snip. Lately, I've just been concerned with the amount of hatred and vile coming out of the fringe elements of the "left". I was just struck by those who would act on their hatred.

I went to school in the deep South and will tell you the resentments toward the North are alive and well. Students with Illinois plates that said "Land of Lincoln" often got their tires cut. Sad but true.

But most importantly, we can all sleep well tonight knowing you don't want to "go out and kill someone". ;^)

LOL. Reading my original post I meant to type "would we have cried over the loss of..."

I'm trying my best to stay out of trouble here. LOL. I just think they may have felt about Lincoln the way a lot of America feels about x42.
