Yes.
I always feel like a ghoul going "Phew!" when I don't see any names I know as well.
George's mom would be rather rightly miffed at me if anything happened to him while he's over there.
(I was given crud info about his whereabouts a month back.)

He joined up somewhat because I did, and his mom was rightly p.o'd at me about it.
I think my cousin is back stateside.
But I have no solid info on if that is true or not.
(My side of the family is the 'blacksheep' side.)
God be with the families of those who for whatever reason can't be home right now.

Now now.. morning sluggishness isn't all that bad as to need to take such drastic measures.
Albany and back?
Hmmm... Going anywhere near Watertown anytime soon?

Albany and back?

When I have to go for a stupid meeting I do it round trip. I make it there in about 4 1/2 hours, meetings are usaully 2 hours so the whole day os about 11 to 12 hours long. It's better than staying there, the place smells like liberals and I don't want to get infected.

Good thinking, in and out before they can get to you.

I understand your coffee is pretty potent, is this true??

Rumor has it that it will keep you up for a couple days.

Good morning, all.

Has the smoke cleared from the cyber-battlefield yet? Have Snippy's gallant Armored Fighting Bicycles been repaired? Has she recruited Lance Armstrong?

Has Sam been kept awake wondering if Snippy was just playing possum?

Is it all just an insidious plot? Where are my socks? How come my meds aren't working? Inquiring minds want to know. :)

And by the way, it's Monday after an unfortunately crummy weekend. Nowhere to go but up from here. :)

I tried it. Haven't slept since late July. :)

It doesn't do much to me anymore, but then I had two or three cups of it a day for several years straight.
But I am told it's most liekly a mistake to try it.
Sam had jitters and couldn't sleep for awhile after having his first cup, and snippy was buzzed to teh max as well.

But, here it goes:
In one standard size drip percolator, fill pot to 6 cup mark.
In standard size filter using standard size scoop, dump six heaping scoops of coffee grinds, medium roast works best.
Add pinch of salt (important, it does make a difference. Experiment and see.)
Roughly enough to cover the surface of a dime in a single layer of salt.
Brew.
Recirculate if needed, not usually, and enjoy, maybe.
I probably should say that those with heart problems or high blood pressure probably shouldn't try this.
Maybe even nursing or pregnant women as well?

That's how I brew it, and I have had Columbians back away from the stuff muttering.
I've also been told that there's "death in the pot."

Another caveat, it must be finished off quickly as it does not age too well when brewed that strong. It will burn if left on the heat too long, an dthe salt staves this off for awhile, but it's effect lessens the longer the pot sits.
I usually sugar the stuff (5-8 spoons) and use 1/2 & 1/2 as creamer.
DO NOT use 'Creamora' or 'Coffeemate', you'll end up with 'Artillery Death Sludge' and definately need possible ambulatory help.
I think that's part of what Sam and snippy did with the first batch...

Coffeemate or Cremora. I believe that was our mistake too.

I'm off to a meeting the rest of the afternoon y'all. I may be able to sneak back in at lunch time.

SAM will be awake soon. ;)

Have a good Monday.

Well, give it a shot if you want to.
Sam says he tries the stuff as a treat once in awhile now.
But sugar and dairy dreamer are necessities with it.
(More or less trial and error before you find the 'sweet spot' that suits you with it.)

I will admit that it does take some gtting used to.
