Whenever we made a remote landing, my job was to hang out the door and watch the tail rotor to make sure it didn't hit anything. You lose the tail rotor and you'll suddenly feel like a frog in a blender.
Reasoner was right. A helicopter violates every law of aerodynamics and most of the laws of physics. They can fly backwards, too, but not far.
That helicopter pilot graphic touched home with me. My sentiments about those things exactly!
