LOL. I'm going out to get some caffeine right now. See you bouncing around later. :)

I'm also seriously thinking of printing up a shirt that says "It's no use, the voices are on MY side."
As well as making up a few that say "I survived Darksheare's Coffee." with a small graphic under it.
Hmmm... planning, planning...

I've always had a hard time reading about the USS Canberra, the name just makes me think it's an Australian ship. She was named in honor of HMAS Canberra, sunk by the Japanese while defending the Americans on Guadalcanal, becoming one of the first ships sunk in what would soon be called "Iron Bottom Sound".

It's so hard to read the MOH Citations and nooot get a tear in your eye.Where does America keep finding such men?
It's in our spirit I guess. I hope they have a special place in heaven for them.
I think men like this are all around us, should or would the opportunity present itself selfless acts would be performed.
Makes one proud to be an American.

Thanks aomagrat.
I knew there was an Australian Canberra and that's the one I read about the most so I just "make the leap" to her whenever I see the name.

The closet thing I've had to Darksheare's coffee was the stuff I got in the galley at Great Lakes when Roger took me up there. The Navy always did make better coffee than the Army

The Navy always did make better coffee than the Army Well, I dunno. When I standin' the mid-watch, the only available coffee was on the mess decks. Brewed probably around 2000 hrs and ya hit the spigot on that big old coffee urn that's been heating it for 6 hours, you look for anything to dilute it. Even that fake canned milk didn't help the flavor.p>But being Skandinavian, coffee is an essential part of my diet. Ya just drink it, shudder a little bit, and go pour another cup. Keeps the kidneys workin' properly. :)
To: SAMWolf
BTW SAM, thanks for the reminder about Roger. Again, Salute.
To: Diver Dave
coffee is an essential part of my dietI can't imagine life without coffee.
You're right about having to dilute Navy coffee, I swear you could stand a spoon up in a cup of it.

It wasn't that bad...
Just because it makes you do warp seven and twists your view of the world afterward doesn't make it bad stuff...
*chuckle*
Have another mug, it won't hurt!
By teh way, you did let those mugs sit and soak for a bit, right?

Well.. if you do try my brew, just remember the pinch of salt.
And don't use canned anything if you can help it.
And to be on the safe side, do not recirculate it through the filter like I normally do...
Kidneys need to be kept working properly, not exploded.
