Two things - looking for information: 1. Some thing I saw somewhere lead me to believe that there were more warships of the Monitor design built during the war.
2. Anything to the rumor that Erickson invented the adjustable wrench?

Ironclads also saw use on the Mississippi later in the war.

1. Yes, there were more ships built based on the Monitor's design.

2. Johan Petter Johansson is the private person that played the most important part in the development of Enköping during the 20th century. More than 100 years after the patents were received for the pipe wrench and the adjustable wrench, these tools still form the foundation for the major production at the present Bahco Tools - the company that he started in 1886.
