While a Personnel Specialist in the USAF at Tinker AFB, I interviewed TSgt George Armstrong Custer, III, he must have been descendant of a cousin because I later found out Custer had no Sons. Anyway a good book that was written from Indian Eyewitness Accounts is Custer: Save the last Bullet for Yourself, very interesting theory that a lot of the soldiers committed suicide at the near the end of the battle.

I suppose once all hope was gone of relief and ammo was runnig out it would seem like a good alternative. I'd hate to have to make the choice.
