Got into a little discussion with my sister about VA benefits...
She said that the pubs would set things right when they get back in power...
I pointed out to her that every significant piece of legislation for veterans was written and passed by democommies.

Democrats always look better on paper because they are more generous with other people’s money, and love creating new departments and layers of bureaucracy.
I’m not saying Republicans are better - and there’s no doubt vets deserve a lot better from us than they get - I’m just not sure you can measure it by which party passes the most spending bills or creates the most bureaucracy.
There’s got to be a better solution than the Democrat playbook of an ever expanding bureaucracy.
I’m a vet and that is not true- not exactly-first of all all appropriations start in the House which Dems have controlled almost 2/3 of the time in the last 90 years and they routinely block any Veterans bills that the GOP nominates. See GOP bill FY2017 a few years, blocked by Dems The measure would have funded veterans benefits and medical care 2.9 billion above and beyond what Dems would allow as well as housing for military families, and construction projects to improve base infrastructure, including schools and medical facilities.
So yeah, its like saying the only grain i get is from Stalin, because that is the only grain allowed. e.g. any legislation that is passed by Dems is Dem legislation, they are just better at politics than pubs -don’t fall the the crumbs Dems give you in the name of their political goal of universal health care and think they are on your side-they are not
