Amazing how a young man, with boyish good looks at 5'5" and diminutive physique could be such a warrior. With all the horror he encountered, he put it behind and became an actor among other things. So many from WWII had battle-shock (now PTSD) and couldn't function after the war. My infantry combat Father told me of such. Many were sent to the rear echelon.

The above is why I respect Marine/Army ground troops over all other Branches, even my Navy being chased by Soviet subs itching to send us to the bottom. Of course there were some horrendous Naval battles in the Pacific and Army Air Corps air battles over the European theater. So kudos to them, too.

A 2020 film called, "The Outpost" is currently on Netflix or maybe Amazon Prime. It's as well done or more as I've seen with Bengazi; Secret Soldiers or Black Hawk Down. Some idiot positioned this post in a "killing zone" in a small valley surrounded by mountains. After the final attack by a massive Taliban army and a win by the soldiers with late air support, it was demolished as were all such outposts that were vulnerable. It's pretty authentic and not for the weak of stomach. We lost 8 with multiple injuries when the Taliban penetrated the fence. Two of the soldiers got living MOH. Others received Silver Stars and such.
