He got people to come as Arnold provided the (not very fine) transport ships and head rights for any settler who would stick it out. So today there are a couple Gen. There is another monument to Arnold, at Saratoga battlefield, although it doesn’t bear his name. Just a marble stone bearing an image of his boot, in memory of the wound that effectively ended his career as a Patriot soldier.
