CA MAU, Vietnam It could have been 1969 again as Secretary of State John F. Kerry stood on the bow of the small boat chugging up the Bay Hap River on Saturday, the wind billowing his sleeves and his eyes darting left and right toward banks shrouded in dark foliage.
As a young Navy lieutenant, Kerry commanded a Swift boat along this stretch of churning brown waters in the middle of a free-fire zone. Here, he earned a Silver Star for his heroics when he leapt ashore after an ambush to pursue a fleeing Viet Cong with a grenade launcher and shot him dead.

Exactly.
And in the election, his supporters tried saying there was.
Ed
Probably a mistake .... was in Cambodia when he was working with the CIA.
Yes. I’m old enough to remember the guys coming home from WWII. The more “action” they saw .. the less they talked.
Not fake news. Just plain bullshit.
Kerry was in Vietnam!? Yer kiddin!
For his histrionics....
What happens when the police do the same thing in Chicago?
My father said he knew who he was during the war. Just a privileged rich kid who got a pass because of his family. He spent his entire time as a REMFer. I don’t think he spent a single minute of the war in any real danger.
Hey, WAPO, let me properly finish that thought for you this time.
It could have been 1969 again as the odious Secretary of State John F. Kerry once again found himself working overtime, plotting the nefarious moves that would carry him through his remaining days in office. His overriding goal, then as now: to do as much damage to America and to America's ideals and interests around the world as he possibly could, in order to advance the dystopian agenda of global Socialism.
No potential betrayal or treachery has ever been so small or insignificant as to escape his notice and attention. Sowing chaos and havoc and destruction on a global scale is hard work, yet Kerry has resolutely and relentlessly continued to approach his calling with a ruthless passion and a steely-eyed determination to wield the weapons of his office up to the last possible moment.
The America-haters of this world watch on with gleeful awe, respect, and sinister admiration of his singular ability to commit blatant, premeditated treason and get away with it scot-free. His fellow-travelers can only imagine the evil, the destruction, and the chaos that he could have wrought, if only he had been elected President.
Nevertheless, he has been spectacularly successful in his quest to destroy America both from within and without, not just during these past few years of malfeasance through his actions as Secretary of State, but extending all the way back to his formative years as a lying Communist agitator. Under Kerry's watch, America's enemies have increasingly prospered as they became emboldened by the deliberate leadership vacuum established by Obama and Kerry, while America's power and prestige as the champion of what used to be called 'the free world' have been diminished in stature and effectiveness. Undoubtedly he's looking forward to reaping rich rewards for his long career of betrayals, his blatant duplicity, and for his breach of the public's trust.
I want to know why the hell we are paying for Kerry to take a nostalgic trip that has nothing to do with US diplomacy. The Rats never cease to lower the bar of public service.
Oh puhl-eeze! This crap is so Goebels. When is it going to end? What’s next, Mary-Jo Kapekne’s family gives the Kennedy’s driving and swimming lessons as an act of closure and peace?
He also has a hat.
I loved watching the lefties try to spin and “prove” that a Silver Star could have a V device.
(Kerry listed his supposed DD-214 on his page, it listed exactly that. A Silver with V device. Patently ridiculous, hence why I brought it up.)
I have two friends of mine that got the SS in VN for Valor, Enlisted Scum, never saw a V on the Award.
Yes, Kerry’s curiously short four months in Vietnam, ending in his shipmates black-balling him back to the U.S. Such memories!
Still looking for his hat?!
Indeed the medals he tossed over the fence in a D.C. protest came from a pawn shop true democrat style.
