"Why I hate cops- they roll heavier than we did outside the wire downrange, they use helicopters and machine guns and militarized stuff and drive tanks into crowds..."

and they are protected by each other and sovereign immunity (even when we’re wrong, we’re right) when they abuse power in ways regular thugs only dream of.
THAT’s the pic! Thanks!
And yes, I can just make out the “TACOMA” on the tailgate. :)
as more ex-mil become cops they treat citizens like they’re on patrol in baghdad. extremely quick to become aggressive and standoff over very little things. sometimes unpredictably.
damn straight. i can handle carrying a 2-3 pound gun all day. i can’t carry an officer around all day.
exactly. bad folks in every other profession can’t legally draw on you and kill you as a matter of normal police work, and cover it up with their buddies and get a judge to believe them just b/c they are cops.
not to mention the truck wasn’t even the right model.
needs to be a higher standard. they have powers and abilities above the average citizen.
you described “the blue line”.
they don’t b/c they don’t want pissed off bad cops not backing them up, or worse, fragging them. or having their careers destroyed b/c a bad one has higher connections.
Wasn’t even the right colour!
i like good cops.
ans for example i believe officer wilson and evidence and witnesses totally agree with his account.
i have donated to legal funds for cops that have been railroaded for doing their jobs.
but the switch that’s occurred in policing, from peace officer, to law enforcement officer, is a real mentality shift in policing. the militarization and assuming all citizens are criminals they just haven’t caught yet, and the readiness to escalate situations by pulling weapons is something i will never regard with approval.
a neighborhood beat cop who knew the neighborhood and people in it is a far cry from where we are now. the mindshift is tangible.
i hate threads talking about how much you hate is dog.
I hate pitbulls with hate issues.
it is. but until they stop giving cover to the bad ones, it affects them.
and before someone says other good peoole in other jobs don’t purge out bad ones, with the protected powers and ability to kill that cops have, and how the courts view them over joe average citizen, it’s not like a normal private job.
“to protect and serve” has been replace with “whatever, so long as all officers go home safe at the end of the day”.
that’s the mentality shift i’m talking about. it went from citizens first to officers first, and screw the citizens if necessary. if they make mistakes , too effing bad, at least all the cops went home alright. got the wrong house? too bad. murdered the homeowner because she thought thugs were invading her home? too damn bad. shot the dog that was legally confined to its backyard? too damn bad.
if you don’t have anything to hide, you won’t mind us looking around, right?
love that one.
why? they have cops there too.
The type who wants to be a cop has changed.
Every city has a full time application in HR for police officer.
This tells me that there are not enough good guys to fill
the apps fullfill race quotas for public employees at the same time.
So you just get more half ass incompetent service.
You don’t really get many that have a true desire to protect society.
thank you for being a good cop. and serving. and knowing your job and the proper parameters for doing it.
Where’s Sheriff Andy Taylor when you need him?
