Some other poster mentioned that pay had increased over 100% since 2001.

Base pay for an E-1 went from $1042 in 01 to a proposed $1532 in 2014. $490 increase, for a non-war in beginning of 2001 to seemingly never-ending war nowadays under the DiC. Less than 5 bills extra of QE'ed cash to fight 0bama's wars? Can't see the 'overspending' for base pay.

E-1 pay is meaningless since it is basically a probationary pay period.

How long does the average GI remain as an E-1 today, 2 or 3 months?
