Medved reviewed it today on his show. He didn’t care for it at all, mainly because he says it is overly dark, and far too much so to take young children, under 9 or so, to see it. The kid is basically bipolar.
He said that it is beatifully made but too disturbing.

It wasn’t really a happy book to begin with. From what I’m reading here it doesn’t sound like it was really made as a kid’s movie anyway.
