It was one of my favorite books when I was a kid.
Then you will probably enjoy the film, as well. It is intended for those adults who cherished this book in childhood.
I have heard hundred of kids say that same thing and I’m not sure why but Sendak’s book obviously resonated with many people. Myself, I think I read the book (because there is very little text), a hundred times but no way could I ever say it was my favorite. As a kid, it was probably “The Diamond in the Window” or maybe even earlier “Charlotte’s Web.”
