The VA is disbursing the money directly to veterans.

Apparently federal and postal retirees are getting one too, altho I thought it will be a credit on 2009 taxes. Kiplinger.com had an article on this a week ago.

For other working people, the money WILL come as a tax credit.

But you raise a good point. What about veterans who work? I didn’t ask. But from the gist I got from the Veterans Rep, the VA is sending out $250, and thus veterans wouldn’t deal with a credit.

But I could be wrong.

Thank you for bringing that up.

yeah, it’s nice that they thought of veterans...but as usual, we come in last to get ours, after social security, ssi, and railroad retires, guess vets were added as an afterthought....thanks...?
