It is with sad regrets to report that Capt. John K. Nevin USAAC has passed away at the age of 87. Capt. Nevin was commisioned in Jan. 1942. Stationed Kumming China July 1942. Returned Stateside 1944. Received Bronze Star, 3 DFC's, 4 Air Medals, 2 Presidential Citations. Flew "the Hump" keeping the Chinese supplied. Prayers are requested for his family.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
Condolences to your family. Thanks to your father in law for saving our country.
I did my ACSC paper on “Operation Matterhorn” - these guys were amazing, true fearless flyers. I honor your father-in-law’s service. Please pass my thanks to your family.
Colonel, USAFR
My deepest sympathy to you and the rest of the family.
Capt. Nevin was commisioned in Jan. 1942. Stationed Kumming.....
A reverent salute to the Captain and all his comrades. I believe Rush Limbaugh’s father flew with the Tigers in China.
I also believe the correct spelling of the city (Kumming) is Kunming, with one M and two Ns; just for the record.
Prayers up!
Your admiration for your father-in-law indicates he was as much a success in civilian life as he was in uniform. Prayers for you and your family.
I did not think any of the Tigers were left. One of the greatest moments in my life was getting commode hugging drunk with Pappy Boyington in 1978.
Rest easy old warrior we honor your service.
Rest In Peace, Capt. Nevin, and prayers up for his (your) family.
Thanks for the ping

Wow... that’s one party I wish I’d been at!
Prayers for the family.
