HOMES FOR OUR TROOPS is a non-Profit organization that builds or adapts homes for returning Iraqi veterans who have lost limbs and have special needs physically that require their homes to be remodeled to make the required changes to accomodate the injuries sustained by our warriors in Iraq.
I have met these men who run the show there, and highly endorse what they are doing.
Recently, due to just a simple choice, 2 Marines who served in Iraq and were seriously wounded are having either a new home built by HOMES FOR OUR TROOPS or a used home will be purchased and remodeled to make it acceptable for either returning veteran.
HOMES FOR OUR TROOPS has built homes and remodeled homes for all services, regardless of rank or military service.
Below is some new material on a fundraising dinner being held to help defray the costs for these 2 new homes, and, the company of military men and veterans who have placed their life on the line for us to breath free.
Please feel free to disseminate as you wish, it is for a good cause.
The Navy Seabee Veterans of America Island X-7 of Plymouth is putting on a dinner show on May 13TH at the Wareham Elks located on Cranberry Highway in Wareham. This is going to be a group of Southeastern Massachusetts best amateur & professional singers including Mike Slaters Tribute to Elvis & will include a steak tips dinner. The cost of the dinner will be $25.00 with all profits from this function going to two different causes.
1) Homes for our Troops is building homes for two young Marines from CT. Who were seriously wounded in Iraq.
a) Sgt. Jared Luce who lost both legs & suffered severe damage to his left hand & eye. He has a wife & 3 young sons.
b) Cpl. Brian Johnson who lost both his right leg & right arm
2) VFW /Blue Star families support group in Plymouth Ma. They have expended nearly $70,000 since February of 2004 to support the troops from S.E. Mass. & need to replenish funds to continue
It is not our intent to donate monies to Homes for our Troops but to purchase as much as we can & donate that directly as needed for the construction of these homes. We know that all large charitable organizations have overhead costs & that some of the money donated goes to operating expenses. We want all the monies donated to go into the construction of these homes. We feel it is our obligation to our donors.
The Wareham Elks have donated the use of the hall which will hold 250 - 300 people. Tables will be reserved for persons buying 8 tickets. Any person who cannot make it to the dinner and who wishes to donate can send a check made out to NSVA X-7 Troop Support Fund & mail it to me at the above address
If you have any questions or to purchase tickets please to call me at (508) 759-1594 at any time. Or e mail me at bob@graserassociates.com
We are a federally recognized 501(c) (4) tax exempt non profit Veterans Organization and all donations are tax deductible

Give those of us who can't attend an address so that we can direct our donations. I can't drive 150 Miles, get moderately hammered, and drive back, and then go to work.
The Jeffry Burgess Memorial Fund is going to donate funds to this, so, if after calling the phone numbers provided, if they cant give you an address, the Jeffy Burgess fund will take the donation and use it for HOMES FOR OUR TROOPS.
OR, you can donate directly to HOMES FOR OUR TROOPS
