They used the Henschel to devastating effect (I think it was the first time they used them ). Apparently it was an AWESOME anti - tank platform. I'm not sure how many were manufactured, but the modified Stukas stayed on in the anti - tank role for most of the rest of the war, so maybe they didn't have enough of the Henschels

The main thrust of the article, the lack of originality in the German attack plan, was right on the money. I can't think of another operational concept that put Schwerpunkten at the bases of a salient for a frontal attack

I think the produced fewer than 900 Hs-129s during the war. It had some problems but, under powering being one but it was an effective tank killer.

The only HS-129 pic I have, it is a "B" model with the Ghnome Rhone engines and I believe a 75mm cannon in the nose.

From...http://www.warbirdsresourcegroup.org/LRG/hs129.html

Hs 129B-2 Series: Two 13mm MG 131 Machine Guns in nose. Two 20mm MG 151/20 cannon in nose. Various weapons were fitted inclusding 37mm BK 3.7 and 75mm BK 7.5. An interesting weapon was a battery of six 75mm smoothbore recoiless rifles that fired downawrds and to the rear. This system was fired by an automatic magnetic trigger that fired when the aircraft flew over metal objects. This system was reported to be quite successful.

Back to work I must go, hoping to finish hanging the sheetrock today, finally.
