Kerry could not carry any of the South. Looks like the
South is still fighting to save the Republic yet today.
I live in Wisconsin and am getting very tired of these people, sanctimonious power freaks so certain they know the truth that they will tolerate no criticism.
"Truth is what I say it is, nothing more, and nothing less," to paraphrase the Red Queen.

The 1930's were a period of tremendous technological innovation. Even the aluminum and steel alloys we used today were developed then. Oil production technology, electrical distribution technology, mass production of structural steel, the list goes on.
By comparison, the technological innovation happening nowadays (although it probably doesn't seem that way) is almost nonexistent. Even computers were fully defined in concept by Turing in the 1930's. Semiconductors were developed then in concept, and were used in technologies like very high frequency diodes. Statistical process control in manufacturing, centrifugal pumps, nuclear physics, ditto. The first jet aircraft.
Nowadays we have bureaucrats and other ruler wannabees, a horde of officious fools insisting everyone obey them since they are the fountain of all wisdom and holiness, eating out our substance, destroying our future.

That's true of fighter bomber version. :-)
They did have an unarmed photo-reconnaissance and an unarmed bomber, too.

By comparison, the technological innovation happening nowadays (although it probably doesn't seem that way) is almost nonexistent.Oh I agree. I also think if we continue to rid ourselves of development and manufacturing capabilities we will be in deep trouble or at the mercy of foreign nations.
As I gather inventory for our store I see how difficult it is to buy American made products. Sam and I are striving to buy American and to buy locally. When we've needed services we look first for someone locally at the city level. The quality of American goods remains at a higher standard and a higher price but it is important to us.

The Chinese are still making a lot of parts that just look like parts. They look like a bargain but are not. Heaven help us when they straighten out their act. They are getting the very best accelerated training from European and American firms in how to do just that. MBAs at work.

That's true of fighter bomber version. :-) You made me go back and looks some more, and I found a reference to 27 of the fighter bombers being built with a 57mm cannon in the nose. The Night fighters had both the 40mm cannon and the machine guns. It looks like you are right about the bombers. I believe the BOAC transport version may have also been unarmed.

Hi everyone!
I'm finally catching up. Basically didn't get anything done a couple of days this week.
What a roller coaster ride election day was. I should have anticipated one last dirty trick from the media. When will I ever learn!?
I'm so proud the country made the right call. It's very fitting to have a tribute to President Reagan on the thread today. I have a feeling he's wearing that big grin today.
And one more thing. God Bless the Swiftees. They sailed right at John Kerry knowing the media barrage they would have to take. But they made sure a traitor to our veterans would not occupy the White House. God Bless 'em.
