Ping ya to the wrong post. I'm tired. :-)
This one is for you two. Speaking of ghosts;
We had a wonderful visit to the battlefield today. Just to walk over the same ground... you can feel them there.

Hi snippy!
It's a pleasure to watch over the FOXHOLE. You and Sam did so much to help the Lair in the early days.
How are you enjoying the East Coast? Finding Star Bucks okay are you?? LOL
Run on up to NY, I always have the coffee on. LOL Or you could stop at Darksheare's and get some killer brew!!
And we have Cardinal birds here!!!
To: Professional Engineer
OK folks, time to get chatty. LOL. Flexing your muscle 'eh?

The cardinal is Ohio's state bird. They don't hang out in Oregon and I do miss their song.

I was about to get really chatty, but had to leave, my daughter came and we went shopping. Oh the rain was terrible.

It's "We miss Snippy and Sam" day 2. Awww. We think about all you throughout the day. We have a great picture we took on our drive today that reminded us of Darksheare, then we passed an old church having a quilt show tomorrow and we thought of GailA, thought of stand watie when we saw the Confederate flag flying proudly from someone's home and with every Old Glory flag we saw that caught our eye we thought of you PE.
The Foxhole family is never far from our thoughts.

Dr. Edward Revere, Harvard Medical School graduate, was the grandson of Paul Revere. He, too, died while dressing the wounds of casualties at a regimental aid station located within musket shot of the firing line. Thanks tomball. We toured the battlefield today and yet I still learned somthing new from you about this battle. :-)

What was the "cornfield" like. That and the sunken road sound like 2 places I want to see.Seeing the battlefield in person allows you to touch and feel the written history that we know. The cornfield is there and thick as well as tall, you can see the strategic areas and how the terrain played an important role. The sunken road will bring tears to your eyes. You can 'feel' the enormity of it all.

We're under a tornado watch here. The rain will get worse as the remnants of Ivan get closer.

We're are under flood watch here. My poor daughter had just gotten out of work to come down when the sky opened up. It had been a slow drizzle until then.
Well, we got the running around done and she headed for home, hubby and the couch!

LOL!
I was thinking more along these lines.

It would appear they were designed for the same job. Anti-submarine patrol and convoy escort.

Thanks for the info on the Surgeons who died at Antietam. We also found out today that a 15 year old Union Bugler, John Cook, took over cannoneer duties under severe fire when the battery he was with was decimated. He was awarded the Medal of Honor for his actions.
