My husband just mentioned that he met one of the Ploesti pilots when we were sightseeing in Guthrie, OK. They were having a WW2 reunion of some sort, and he visited with the guys while I was in the Territorial Museum with the older kids. (But in my teens, I sat at the kitchen table with one of the Dam Busters!)
If anyone is ever by there, lots to see in Guthrie!
You and got to talk to one of the DamBusters and your husband met a Ploesti pilot!! I'm jealous. It wuold have been such an honor for me.
