Lloyd Herbert Hughes was my uncle. He was just over 22 years old when he died, not 21. Here is an image of his grave marker showing that he was born JUL 12 1921 and he died on AUG 1 1943:

One of them must have gotten his age wrong or just wasn’t good at math. :-)
Your site is very good and filled with information. It is wonderful that you are keeping his story alive. Thank God that with the internet many of these histories will survive long after we’re gone.
