Evening Grace Snip & Sam~

Fascinating read . . . I had never heard of the Battle of Waxhaws.

There is nothing cruel or inhuman about soldiers under fire concerning themselves foremost with their own survival and that of their comrades, rather than trying to identify which individual enemies might not (but then again might) be a continuing threat.

This quote could be placed in any time period for any war or battle. I wouldn't know . . . but from what I've read in the Foxhole it sounds like one of those common denominators for soldiers in war.

Evening w_over_w.

The straetgy, tactics and weapons may change but man hasn't. I'd be willing to bet that soldiers throughout history had pretty much the same feelings before during and after a battle.
