Sam, check out the picture of the six man crew swift boat - it doesn't look like Kerry's boat, it's much larger. Kerry's boat looks like a river patrol boat, which would be corroborated by his statement that he had a crew of two besides himself. Just seems odd to me that Kerry would be assigned to an NCO slot. Maybe the unit had too many officers. Maybe the unit chose to make those officer billets. Dunno.

I've read he was on more than one boat but I thought they were both Swift boats. I need someone with more BrownWater Navy expertise.
