Production. B-25 bombers. Workmen perform finishing operation on a front section of a B-25 bomber. General Doolittle, who flew in a B-25 in the raid on Tokyo, has called the ship the best military plane in existence. With plenty of speed, a 1700-mile cruising range and a ceiling of 25,000 feet, it has performed brilliantly as a medium bomber and as an escort plane. Fairfax bomber plant, Kansas City.

Evening Phil Dragoo.
Some great pics of the B-25. Those round engines should be making PE drool.
I had a model of the USS HORNET back in my Grammar School days.

Love the graphics!
Evening all.
Well, I don't have airplanes to post, but how about hot air balloons.

That Gary Brossett front and back photo of the R-2600 is beautifully done. A beautiful subject, of course!
Those head castings are stunning. There is not one homely part on that thing. The inlet charge tracts are so sinuous.

Those round engines should be making PE drool. LOL PE let out an Oh My God exclamation this morning at seeing those. From the other room, Msdrby asked, "Who are you talking too?".

They are a thing of beauty aren't they. You can't help but have a lot of respect for people who can design things like that.

There are exceedingly few people whose lives I would have liked to have been along with for the ride, and Doolittle is at the top of the list. I consider him a 'wise man' because he made the most of every slightest opportunity offered to do what he loved most -- flying, and advancing the cause of flying, and doing it in the defense of the nation.

Don't forget the autobiography -- I Could Never Be So Lucky Again.

Thanks. My son read that and did his High School report on it.
