Wow, thanks, snippy! He was very glad to serve...an "old" college man on the day Pearl Harbor was hit. Was only on the Edgar Chase long enough to help get him to a little Leyte Gulf island, Calicoan, in the Philippines, heading a Naval Supply depot (mostly scrounging beer and building rec facilities for the troops on R&R, I think. *g*).

i have been to the calicoan island 2 weeksago, and found fragments of brown bottle with 'duraglass' and '1945' on the bottom - could nayone please help me identify what bottle i found? if it's a beer, what brand of beer? thanks a lot.
