ABOVE & BELOW: Two views of a vehicle "224," a Panzerkampfwagen V Ausf. A Panther of the Panzer-Division "Feldherrnhalle". Both views allow a clear view of the production features that distinguish this version from other models, such as the new ball-mount for the hull machine gun that replaced the older "envelope-slot" style mount, and the retention of the driver's vision slit that was deleted in favor of a periscope in later production models (although the visor shield itself is actually missing from this example). As with many of the vehicles on display in the Afrika Gruppe, this Panther is painted in the standard desert sand yellow and has a number of kill rings painted on the barrel of the powerful 7.5 cm Kw.K. 42 L/70 main gun.

Panther Ausf G hit by heavy shell
Thanks for all the links. The one with the "hidden" gallery was excellent. Lots of pics I never saw before, especially the pictures of the Panther in producion and the first photo of the Flakpanzer V "Coelian" prototype I've ever seen. I've only seen drawings and models before.
The did sneak in a picture of a KingTiger into the series.
