We desperately need a return to the enthusiusm and successes of those days, hopefully a better goal for a second Bush term than another war against another enemy, which if we certainly have many of who are fully deserving, are perhaps better first impresed with what a thorough accounting we receive from those with whom we are at present engaged.
But We come in peace, for all mankind remains about as noble a purpose and goal as any I can think of. I'd like to see us reaching for those High Stars, and that noble purpose, again soon.
We owe it to some folks who paid an awfully high price to open the doors for us....
As a matter of fact, we owe it to some others, too: the ones who can keep that promise. And we owe it to ourselves.
