I'm not making excuses. I'm just amused by it -- and a bit proud that my kids are American Mutts (to use a term a friend of mine used to describe her ethnicity).

Actually, considering the treatment I've had from fellow Jews for being a Republican and from a small town, I don't really consider Jews my "tribe" -- Many of them out-"Yankee" the Anglo-Saxon "Yankees." I just consider Judaism my religion.

(My tribe is my extended family and close friends, but that starts a whole other philosophical discussion.)

I am confused. The writer of the original article refered to Southerners as Normal and Yankees as different?

Does that mean that the Black Southerners were normal? How about the half black children of rape by so called normal southerners? Were they normal? How about the half black children of Southern belles and thick bodies field hands? Were they normal?

Or is this more revisionist crap?
