Hubby and I got a chance to take in a movie yesterday, “Hacksaw Ridge”.
Mel Gibson out did himself, sure beat “Saving Private Ryan”.
A little synopsis: WWII Am. army medic Desmond Doss, who served during the Battle of Okinawa, refuses to kill people and becomes the 1st Conscientious Objector in Am. history to win the Congressional Medal of Honor.
It is gory and not for the squeamish but an inspiring true story.
My father often shared George Washingtons Thanksgiving Prayer with family. To continue this tradition will be sharing with all of you

This prayer is abridged from George Washington’s Thanksgiving Proclamation of 1789.

May we all unite in rendering unto God our sincere and humble thanks— For His kind care and protection of the people of this country, For the great degree of tranquility, union, and plenty which we have enjoyed,
For the peaceable and rational manner in which we have been enabled to establish constitutions of government for our safety and happiness,
For the civil and religious liberty with which we are blessed, and the means we have of acquiring and diffusing useful knowledge, and in general for all the great and various favors which He hath been pleased to confer upon us.
And may we also unite in most humbly offering our prayers and supplications to the great Lord and Ruler of Nations and beseech Him—
To pardon our national and other transgressions,
To enable us all, whether in public or private stations, to perform our several and relative duties properly and punctually,
To render our national government a blessing to all the people, by constantly being a government of wise, just, and constitutional laws, discreetly and faithfully executed and obeyed,

I’ve seen clips of Hacksaw Ridge on TV ads and it does look good.
My BIL likes history, so I’m thinking of getting him a DVD of Patton as one of his stocking stuffers. When it first came out, my fiancé at the time was obsessed with it and we saw it several times. George C. Scott was so good in it. I’ve not seen or thought about it in years, but Trump’s mention of Patton at his rallies here and there made me think of it.
F&F’s having Johnny Rockets on and all the talk of hamburgers, is making me hungry for one. I rarely eat fast food, but may need to stop at Mickey D’s or BK while running errands later. Though, as crazy as it may sound, I’ve been hungry for a fish sandwich (have 1 or 2 a year), so may get that instead.
