Tea party-backed Rep. Justin Amash has made enough enemies in the Republican Party so that he shouldn't be surprised when he faces a tough primary challenge. But even by Amash's standards, businessman Brian Ellis's campaign against him in Michigan's 3rd District has been aggressive.

The negative ads appear to be backfiring. I hope Amash gets more terms. We need more Libertarian-influenced Republicans in Congress.
“The negative ads appear to be backfiring. “
Every campaign appears to be negative. I always tune out negativism and I suspect many others do too. I suggested to the independent candidate I worked for (through his staff) that he go positive and state what he wants to accomplish rather than tearing down (in this case)the Republican. We were trying to knock out a seated Democrat, Allan Boyd. So, instead of attacking Boyd, he blew his budget attacking the Republican. In the end he was only polling 4% so I and most of his campaign workers voted for the Republican.
Frankly, I think the day of the negative ad is passed.
Isn’t Rand Paul a Libertarian-influenced Republican? He is all over the place lately and rather scary. All I know is if the DEMS and RINOs are for “em, I’m a’gin ‘em.
That is a perfect metric.
Calling everyone is a libertarian the GOPe tactic and at this point I think it is backfiring on them.
My daughter lives in his district. Lucky girl. He’s got her vote.
Amash refuses to debate is guy. It would be easy win and good publicity .....but he won’t. hummmm.
What will he do when the democrats want a debate?
The House on Friday passed a bill to approve construction of the Keystone XL pipeline hours after a Nebraska court ruled in favor of the proposed route. The legislation now goes to the Senate, where it is expected to be approves. The White House has warned President Obama would veto the legislation. Passage fell largely along party lines, 266-153, with 28 Democrats joining nearly all Republicans in favor. Rep. Justin Amash (R-Mich.) voted "present." That is short of the necessary two-thirds majority needed to override a veto. [House Approves Keystone XL Pipeline]
...legislation sponsored by Rep. Bill Cassidy (R-LA) which approved construction of the long-delayed Keystone XL Pipeline... 31 Democratic representatives voted with every Republican member of Congress save Rep. Justin Amash (R-MI), who voted present, to approve construction of the pipeline. [31 House Democrats join GOP in vote to approve Keystone]
