As the 2012 election begins to heat up, conservatives will be looking to find alternate ways of getting information, since much of the so-called mainstream press tilts heavily to the left.
One way conservatives can connect is through the use of "microblogging".
Microblogging is defined as a web service that lets subscribers broadcast short messages to other subscribers of the service. These short posts can be made public on a Web site and/or distributed to a private group.
One example of a microblog is Twitter, currently in use by thousands worldwide. Barack Obama used Twitter heavily during the 2008 election, and other politicians are using the service as well - Sarah Palin being one of the most well-known politicians using Twitter.
Walt Minnick used Twitter to announce his concession to Raul Labrador in November.
But two conservatives in Issaquah, WA are using the technology to help contribute in their own way. They have started their own microblogging site specifically for conservatives.
Foundersweb has two primary goals:
1.To provide timely & relevant information (news articles, blog posts, tweets) for conservatives. 2.To provide a social platform where conservatives and Tea Party supporters can connect & organize. Some might say such a service is unnecessary, but the developers of Foundersweb disagree. On their "About Us" page, they explain:
Foundersweb is a microblogging network for Conservatives. Think of it as Twitter but without any of the Liberal hate or spam. Microblogging has become a popular method of communication on the Internet thanks to Twitter. Through our platform, Conservatives exchange short messages and thereby share interesting content. In addition, Foundersweb texts, attaches links, videos, pictures and other files to your messages.
Foundersweb is fairly new, but one of the developers explained the idea is to build smart systems to help spread relevant information to conservatives:
"This first phase of our project showcases a Twitter-like app on PC & Mobile, a Hand-picked Conservative Links module and a Conservative News Aggregator.
We believe that micro-blogging could be a good way for Conservatives and especially Tea Party supporters to connect."
The reason Foundersweb exists is also found on the web site:
Progressivism is not an American tradition. It was imported from Europe at the beginning of the 20th century, from pure socialist stock, and imposed itself on our politics and culture thanks to Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Delano Roosevelt, Lyndon B. Johnson and Jimmy Carter. In order to do that, progressivism had to bypass the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence
Although new, the site is beginning to see interest from conservatives nationwide, and could help conservative candidates get their message directly to the public bypassing a media that is often hostile to the conservative point of view.

So far...I like it!
Well I liked the fact that the site has paid ads, something that FR should have IMHO.
The action is too fast no time to read scrolling text before it is gone.
Home page should be news not posts.
So.....we’re trying to support a website that promotes civil debate, timely information and intelligent commentary on current events.......yet we’re going to detract from the cleanliness and concise layout of the site by allowing stupid, inane, unrelated, cheap, garish graphics to detract from the tone and purpose?
The obituaries in my local online newspaper has a stupid weight loss ad and agraphic of a poorly drawn fat woman who shrinks and expands continually while one is trying to read the solemn details of the passing of friends and loved ones. It’s one of the most disgusting, sickening experiences to be subjected to such garbage on that page, nevermind any others.
Most sites that allow banner ads soon greedily allow half or more of available space to get taken up by such offal and it’s offensive, to say the least. As long as there’s a sight left that rises above that trash, that’s where I’ll be.

Do you run this site? Didn’t think so, so how about keeping your terrible “opinions” to yourself. It’s about time we have something to separate our important information from the godless blather of the left.
Are you an idiot, or just plain stupid?
Of course he did, he's a twit.
Paid adds are dumb, and anyone that doesn’t think so is stupid, or an idiot, or both.
Actually the website it dumb, but paid ads are well paid.
My guess is you are very young and are here to disrupt the posters, or your mom doesn’t know you have your computer turned on.
So I have read all of your retarded posts since you have been here. What there are like 25, you are a trouble maker democrat just here to cause trouble ith long time posters.
Enjoy yourstay here, it will be short.
