People who supported McAmnesty preferred to drive off the cliff at 20mph instead of 70mph. It's a slippery slope mentality that has enabled socialists to control the executive and legislative branches of government. At some point the trend has to be reversed.

People need to steer the vehicle away from the cliff by insisting we return to the strong conservative values our founding fathers espoused when they wrote the Constitution instead of merely driving off it at a slower speed as the OP(formerly the GOP)has embraced with its big tent, reach out across the aisle, in the spirit of bipartisanship mentality that has brought us to where we are today.

So many words, so little substance.

This is breaking news?

Good find. Informative and educational.

obama and a demonrat controlled House and Senate were scary enough to justify my lesser evil vote, and even my encouraging others here to vote for McCain. Many of those fears have been realized.

On the other hand, had McCain won he would have further tarnished the republican brand, demoralizing Republicans, while making voters attempting to keep obama from power by voting for McCain complicit in McCain's doing much of the same damage obama, Reid and Pelousy are doing. As such, President McCain likely would have been the end of the Republican party.

Instead, McCain's loss to obama may be his greatest service to the country and to the Republican party. The demonrat three stooges are invigorating grass roots conservatism and political activism giving us incredible upsets in Virginia, NJ and Massachusetts. Only McCain's retirement would be a greater gift.

This is an attempt by a psuedo-intellectual to get people to “opt out” of the political process. The whole thing boils down to “if you don't get exactly what you want” then get out of the game. But politics, and life, seldom has clear black and white lanes to travel down. Conservatives are never going to get “the perfect candidate”, even if one exists. Even Reagan had some flaws and problems. We can try and get better candidates at the beginning of the process, but McCain would never have done some the moronic things that Obama has done. The Ipod to the Queen, giving in to Ahmadinejad, stopping the oil contracts that Bush started, etc. He might not have been perfect, but anyone could be better than Bozo.

Article assumes a non-evil third choice. Even third choices involve some grade of evil. For example, writing in Ron Paul would have been a selection of a lesser evil to obama but just a different evil to McCain, but evil nonetheless.

How did Bush inflict harm on the rest of the world? While I don’t consider myself an neocon, I tune out people who use that phrase. I guess you could say I’m an anti anti-neoconservatism. This guy is a Pat Buchanan or Ron Paul type, which means he’s great on domestic politics and clueless on foreign affairs.
