But the government’s prescription for the ills caused by intervention is always more intervention. This bears repeating.
There is never "enough" regulation, subsidy, or outright control to suit the statists. They'll argue that "loopholes need to be closed" and "rules need to be tightened" to keep people from "gaming the system."
What results - always - is another layer of bureaucracy to handle the exceptions that (often a result of compromise) had been omitted from the original law or regulation.
Is it any surprise that the army of lobbyists around DC is growing almost as fast as the fedgov? Every industry wants to get favorable treatment in the next round of regulation, tax "reform" and corporate welfare that politicians -- from both major parties -- hanker for.
Time to call a halt.
