They helped him with his resume. They practice interviewing. They help him look for jobs and help complete on-line applications. They offered to go with him on a job interview. I thought, who would hire somebody that needs a job coach to go on an interview? They told me that some companies would balk at this, but many would allow it.
In my opinion, if you are going to hire the handicapped, what do you care if some accommodations have to be made to help out? Sometimes these organizations will even pay to have a ramp put in, or a special phone system, or something like that. Sometimes these people just need a support system. I have hired illiterate people in the past when the job did not require them to read.
In the past I might have been bothered by this, but now that I know how it works, I would allow the job coach. I would at least give the person the chance to interview.
Wake up, dingbat! The success of my enterprise is WAY more important than hiring the less forunate. It’s about what YOU can do for ME, not the other way around.
And if this makes you indignant....TOUGH!!!!!
With your boss's employer, right?
I might have hired him for something, but she really creeped me out.
