The Alabama Republican Assembly (ALRA) has announced its endorsement of Texas Republican Congressman Ron Paul for President.
The ALRA is an affiliate of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA), known as the Republican Wing of the Republican Party. Ronald Reagan once referred to the NFRA as "the conscience of the Republican Party."
"We congratulate Ron Paul on winning the ALRA endorsement," said Elaine Little, Chairman of the Alabama Republican Assembly's endorsing convention. "It's evident that the overwhelming majority of delegates determined that Congressman Paul best represents the Republican platform and the conservative values of limited government and personal freedom."
"Ron Paul has clearly excited many new people and energized them to get involved in the political process. The Republican Party should be grateful for all the 'new blood' coming in as a result of Congressman Paul's message of freedom and returning to the Constitution," said Tom Davis, Vice President of the ALRA and delegate to the endorsing convention.
The NFRA was founded in 1997 to promote conservative values and principles in the Republican Party.
The ALRA hosted a corresponding straw poll that was open to the public while the endorsing convention was taking place. The winner of the straw poll, with 81 percent of total votes cast, was Ron Paul, with Mike Huckabee coming in second with 13 percent and Mitt Romney in third with 6 percent.
Congressman Paul has won more straw polls than any other candidate. For a running total of Dr. Paul's straw poll results visit: www.ronpaul2008.com/straw-poll-results/.
Better an endorsement for Ron Paul than an endorsement for John McAztlan.....
The National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA) is an organization of Republicans which seeks to promote conservative principles and candidates within in the United States Republican Party which support similar conservative principles. In addition to supporting conservative candidates, they are known to target so-called RINOs (Republican In Name Only) which they perceive as being sympathetic to the radical left-wing. They have adopted the slogan “The Republican Wing of the Republican Party”. The group has allied itself with Eagle Forum, Accuracy in Media, and Front Page Magazine.
The NFRA is the national umbrella organization for all of the state organizations. The oldest state party organization is the California Republican Assembly.
The current President of the NFRA is Rod Martin, and his term expires in 2009. Martin, a failed congressional candidate, was fined by the Federal Election Commission for violation of federal election law. A former lawyer, Martin surrendered his law license to the Supreme Court of Arkansas in 2006.
Speakers at the 2007 NFRA convention in St. Louis included Grover Norquist, Phyllis Schlafly, and Tom DeLay.
The Alabama Republican Assembly is a grass-roots volunteer organization chartered by the National Federation of Republican Assemblies. The NFRA was founded in 1997 to promote conservative values and principles in the Republican Party.
Ronald Reagan referred to the NFRA as the conscience if the Republican Party.
What’s odd and who fell for what?
Uh oh, something’s not kosher.
Of course, the same article is also published by Investors Business Daily. Perhaps they are a bunch of conspiracy nuts??

It’s funny that so many people here call Paul supporters conspiracy nuts, yet when he gets any good press the same people cry “it’s a conspiracy!”
President: Elaine Little of Pelham
I know Elaine. She is top notch and thoroughly GOP. (I'm not in the ALRA, but maybe I should be.)
Yeah, "crazy" ideas like going by the constitution, restoring our liberties and getting the ridiculous debt under control. Such "unconservative" ideas! /sarc
Meanwhile, "conservatives" here are cheerleading for big-government RINO's who are about as honest as Bill Clinton, while simultaneously bashing Dr. Paul. No wonder this country is so screwed up. People get the government they deserve.
Mom left the computer running and went to the store ???

Isn’t that the truth.
Yeah, because being pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment, and pro-US sovereignty are liberal positions.
*ROLLS EYES*
“Ronald Reagan once referred to the NFRA as “the conscience of the Republican Party.”
“The NFRA was founded in 1997 to promote conservative values and principles in the Republican Party.”
Somethings not adding up.
My favorite is that all of Paul's supporters are left-wing moonbats, troofers, and white supremacists. Yet, if Paul goes third-party, then he's another Ross Perot splitting the GOP vote. How, if his supporters are leftists?
“The ALRA is an affiliate of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA)
Never heard of either.”
Neither have I, and I’m an Alabama Republican.
