Wasn’t the post WW2 West German economy based on Austrian Economics? I’d say they did pretty well till they embraced the Social Democrat platform.

Just the opposite, the Wirtschaftswunder happened starting in 48 when they moved to a central banking system like ours from the independent banking system established right after the war in 45. They started having problems when they adopted the Ordoliberalism in the mid 50s and did not turn around again until 67 when they adopted the Stability and Growth Act which moved to more Keynesian principles. You are right that they did have problems when they embraced the SD platform (Ordoliberalism) but this wasn’t an alternative to an Austrian type of system, that system was replaced in 48 when it failed to produce any stable recovery results from 45 to 48.

Erhard, a student of Mises, removed wage and price controls during the weekend so the occupation forces couldn't stop them.

That was the catalyst for the W. German economic miracle.
