Rudyjudy, Mcinsane, Huckaberry and make fun buddy romney would not even be considered on his list.
I know we mentioned Mark Sanford.
What about JC Watts? Would he add value to the ticket?

The premise is silly. Why would ANYone announce their VP pick “soon”?
The putative nominee will announce his vice presidential pick next Summer, shortly before the party’s convention. There’s no benefit in announcing soon... especially in January!

Paul is the only candidate left that is anti-amnesty, pro-2nd amendment, anti-abortion, and for limiting the size and scope of government. He's also a cut-n-run islamic apologist.
And a coward.

The last time he ran, his running mate was Russel Means of the American Indian Movement. Can he do any worse?

I would say Ralph Nader, But if he wanted the evangelical vote he could pick Mike Huckabee.

The possibilities you listed are good ones. He needs to select someone young enough to run for prez 4-8 years from now, and someone that holds the same libertarian beliefs as he does, so we'll have a pro-freedom torch bearer when Dr. Paul goes into his well-deserved retirement.
On a related note, I'd like for him to start addressing some of the "important" cabinet positions. Maybe if he suggested appointing pro-empire type persons for State and Defense, he would ease the (small) minds of potential supporters who are wary of his non-interventionalist beliefs.
In general, I wish he'd stop campaigning like someone who doesn't have a shot at the nomination. I know he, and most of his supporters, didn't think we had a snowball's chance when this thing started, but we do now.
It's time to stop being as inflamitory as possible in his statements and time to start speaking like a politician - when you address a nation of gullible sheep, you want to use a soothing baaaaa-baaaaa instead of telling the bitter truth in the most clear and direct of terms.
I'm not saying that he should lie - he probably doesn't know how anyway. I'm just saying that he should tone it down some. We're going to find out soon enough, as a nation, that we're bankrupt and balkanized at home, and overextended overseas.

Yes, he was a real hero but now he's just as dead as Paul's campaign.
