Were you around when the Perot phenom hit?

This reminds of then. It doesn’t take much of a ruckus to convince some there’s a huge following behind them.

There wasn’t then, there isn’t now.

Yes, I was around when Perot hit the scene; however I voted for Dole. It was the last time I threw away my vote by voting for the lesser of two evils, both of whom were put up by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR).

Ron Paul’s following however is not a ruckus. The MeetUp group I attend has over 400+ members now and continues to grow. It’s amazing to see how many are disaffected Republicans who left the party, independents, democrats and others who have registered Republican so that they can vote for Ron Paul in the primaries.

During the march of 1,000 from Reed Park in Santa Monica to the Pier, an older gentleman was asked about Ron Paul. The gentleman said that RP didn’t stand a chance of being elected. I remarked, “Have you seen this many people marching for any other candidate?” He was silent.

Ross Perot was heralded by Ron Paul for taking things into his own hands and bringing his people back while J. Carter was bumbling and dithering. Perot’s heroic doings were what brought him to national attention and made him a hero. Ron Paul supporters, in their own way, take things into their own hands, e.g., November 5th, December 16th, and the Ron Paul blimp. This is precisely what being an American is all about - being given the freedom to do as you wish.

In the movie “The Alamo,” 1964, with John Wayne (great American patriot) as Davy Crocket, this statement was made about the word Republic:

“Republic. I like the sound of the word. It means people can live free, talk free, go or come, buy or sell, be drunk or sober, however they choose. Some words give you a feeling. Republic is one of those words that make me tight in the throat. Same tightness a man gets when his baby takes his first step or his first baby shaves or makes his first sound like a man. Some words can give you a feeling that make your heart warm. Repulic is one of those words.”

Emblazen those words on your heart, my friend, for those are the feelings of Ron Paul supporters.
